NZX Agrifax
AgriFax was founded in 1987 by North Canterbury, New Zealand farmers and cousins, Rod McKenzie and David Meares. Aimed at providing their neighbouring farmers with greater transparency of the prices being paid by processing companies, AgriFax has been developed throughout its 20+ years to provide subscribers with commodity pricing data products and analytical reports on New Zealand's leading agriculural sectors.
In March 2006, AgriFax was acquired by NZX Limited, a New Zealand incorporated listed company and operator and regulator of the only registered exchange in New Zealand (and subsequently renamed NZX Agrifax). In addition to operating and regulating NZX's markets, NZX owns and produces a number of market information products, business tools and fund products for the global agricultural and trade sectors. This growth product area at NZX includes those products created by it's agricultural subsidiary companies Dairy Week (www.dairyweek.com) and ProFarmer (www.profarmer.com.au).
Subscribers to NZX Agrifax, Dairy Week and ProFarmer business tool products (both data and analytical products) include leading New Zealand and international processors and manufacturers, exporters and importers, financial advisers, economists and farmers.
